2009, A Reflection
As per usual, my end of year post that I've neglected doing for the past yr or so. Here's my '09 summarised as best I can.
- Jan~Apr:I was home in Jan. It was great to be back after a year of being away and after spending time with the ex-muse, J, and the family a mth before. February was when J came over to meet my family for the first time. Worked out well fortunately. But yeah I was still anxious. Mid Feb, was back to the hole for uni and falling back into another routine. Made great new friends back at uni. March went quite smoothly and I celebrated my birthday in April with a '6 yr old' theme complete with a pinata, 3 different cakes and as many kiddy games and prizes as I can. Then it was back to Melb to keep getting presents from J's family and another cake lol. Best birthday ever!!
- May~August:Hit a 'proper' yr with J but that happiness was short lived exactly a mth later in June. Our run ended a week before my exams in June and the downward spiral sorta started. Ran off to be with family after the exams and stayed there for a good few weeks till July where I came back to the hostel with a little gift I got from my little cousin... CHICKEN POX!! Yeah first time I get it, and it's in my adult life lol ... painful! Started getting to know an awesome individual who is freakishly similar to me in thinking and such. Turns out boy was rather cute too LOL start of an awesome 'friendship'. Oh August was a bang with Bwaa's birthday and me and the mistress planned it and we're glad she had a blast.
- September~December:September made said 'friendship' rocky. October was another birthday, the M's so the Mrs and myself planned a picnic for her. Yet another success. November was a blast from the past, I had mum here for a bit and finally met up with said individual. Attraction was there but hey whatever ey. J popped back in my life albeit in the form of msgs and phone calls. Didn't appreciate that then but when December rolled round I spose I should let bygones be bygones. Mistress 2 came for a visit and that was a whirlwind. It was firewrks and sparks I reckon = P But good things come to an end. Nuff said you will be missed. Oh not forgetting a big welcome to baby Haifaa to the family =)

the best of my yr in peektures =)
That was my '09 in as little a nutshell as possible. Ask me half a yr ago and I'd have told you I want the year to end and I wish the year didn't happen. But right now I appreciate that it did. I'm thankful for the first part of the year, of being with family and friends back home and showing J a part of me he's not known. My break up was indescribable and not at all in a good way. It was the start of things going pretty badly but like I said as the year progressed and I learnt to deal and cope with things it was a valuable, valuable lesson learnt. I realised that as cliched as it sounds what doesn't get to you really made you stronger. I'm greatful for the friends made and maybe even lost for now. The great things that I've experienced (this one you know it's you) and understanding that a loss doesn't mean the end. It's a start of something new, of another chapter and for me most importantly it was time for me to keep working and focusing on myself. I learnt this year that your true friends are there for you at your worst and will keep caring for you. I don't know what I did to deserve them but I'm greatful to all of you near and far. I miss you guys especially those I haven't kicked back with for the past year.
Here's to 2009, for the strength it brought out, the lessons learnt and the friends that stood by through the worst and the best. The turn of events may not have been what I hoped for but 2009 had its positives and you gotta take the good with the bad. May 2010 bring better and greater POSITIVE things let me add =]
